Hello

Hello (or "parev" in Armenian) to all the Troy Record readers

I'm a local jeweler graduated from Troy High and Siena college 1991 who has a passion for history and a zeal to promote our Armenian culture and heritage in the area...I'm currently the choir director of St Peter Armenian Apostolic Church in Watervliet.............a chaplain for the Knights of Vartan ....I work hard in raising awareness on the Armenian genocide committed by the Republic of Turkey........it’s the first genocide of the 20th century occurring under the guise of World War 1 killing and deporting nearly 1.5 million innocent Armenians.......this mass slaughter preceded the Jewish Holocaust..........after some 95 years it is still denied by the government of Turkey and has used its money and power for 95 years to cover up the truth and to revise history ......without compassion it continues a tragic foreign policy of mass denial

In future posts we can go more indebt covering this very important untold story so you may help the Armenian community to end this injustice and get some final closure..............as Elie Wiesel the famous humanitarian ,author and holocaust survivor eloquently states that "when a state denies a genocide its in a sense committing another genocide "not allowing proper grieving to take place...............it’s the cruel final stage of genocide according to Wiesel and many other scholars experts in the field of genocide........they belong to an important group the international association of genocide scholars who unanimously re-affirm the validity of this tragedy and have consistently asked the leaders of Turkey to recognize it...............for fear of reparations and international standing they continue to dig a hole for themselves and stubbornly deny it and make up stories that are laughable at best

The local Capital District Armenian Genocide Committee, a grass roots organization since 2000, puts on events annualy to educate the public at large and politicians the facts and truth about this unforgotten genocide hoping that some day with the help of national Armenian lobby groups Turkey will become a true democracy and admit once and for all this mass crime against humanity...........this my friends isn’t a political issue its a human rights issue..............the Republic of Turkey has shamelessly politicized this issue for their gain without regard for peace and good will

Join us on March 25th for this important lecture at Siena college at 7 p.m. (student union ) and a book signing / reading at Barnes and Noble in Colonie at 3 p.m. to gain more knowledge on this mass cover up.......find out about the U.S., United Kingdom, German, French and many other countries stance on this issue.........and why it is so important to find out about it ........why it is so important after 95 years to have governments recognize it......history is doomed to repeat if it isn’t recognized or worse yet revised by evil war mongers

Here are some important websites on this topic...I encourage each one of you to visit all of these websites and pass them along to friends and family to help us end this cover up and tragic injustice.

Your feedback is always welcome and appreciated
