Alex Nisanian, young Armenian-American animator, is developing iPhone App dedicated to recognition of the Armenian Genocide, Asbarez reported.
The animator has created graphics necessary for the “Armenian Monument” app and presently is raising funds for its free distribution. His project recently won the support of Kickstarter.com, the largest online funding platform for creative projects, which has published a dedicated fundraising page for the app, the newspaper writes.
The default page of the app will feature the eternal flame at the Armenian Genocide memorial in Yerevan with a contemporary beat produced by DJ Bei-Ru using duduk samples. There will be sections dedicated to history of 1915-1923 Armenian Genocide, list of countries that have recognized the crime and news covering Genocide affirmation efforts worldwide.
“I always thought that if an iPhone app on the Genocide was to be available, it should be a free community service that Armenians can be proud of. Instead of waiting for one, I decided to start it myself,” Asbarez quotes Nisanian as saying.
The fund raising ends on February 27 and the creator hopes to launch it by April 24.
