The Armenian Weekly received the letter below from Danny Tarkanian, who campaigned to win the Republican Primary for U.S. Senate in Nevada.
I want to thank everyone in the Armenian community who followed and supported my campaign for United States Senator from Nevada. Since my college days, I have wanted to get into public service. I believe it is the noblest profession to which a person can aspire. Governor Deukmejian, the first Armenian governor in our country’s history, has been my inspiration. He was a statesman in every sense of the world and gave hope to Armenians all over America
