ARMENIAN HERITAGE MONUMENT DEDICATION, April 7: The Knights and Daughters of Vartan are proud to announce the official dedication of the Armenian Heritage Monument which will take place on Sunday, April 7, at 1:00 p.m. At the Troy Riverfront Park. The dedication ceremony will include a short service by the local Armenian Church clergy, political dignitaries and national leaders of the Knights and Daughters. The public is cordially invited to attend. Following the dedication, a reception will be held across the street ( Uncle Sam Atrium) . All donor names will appear in a souvenir Monument Dedication booklet to be distributed at the reception.
HELPING SYRIAN-ARMENIANS FUNDRAISER, April 13: The Homenetmen of Albany along with Homenetmen Eastern U.S. Region is seeking donations to help distraught Syrian-Armenians. All monies donated will be combined at a regional level and sent to Armenians in Syria. As a token of appreciation, Homenetmen is hosting a complimentary dinner to be held at St. Peter Armenian Church on Saturday, April 13, at 6:30 p.m. A video presentation with live footage from Syria’s current war will be shown followed by a brief program and discussion. All are invited to come and offer your support. To volunteer to assist with this event, please contact Isabel at (518) 542-5233. TOWN OF COLONIE WILL FLY ARMENIAN FLAG, April 20-27: In commemoration of the 98th Anniversary of the Armenian Genocide of 1915-1923, the Town of Colonie will fly the Armenian flag outside the Town Hall from April 20 to April 27.
